Barn conversion

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

Planning permission and Listed Building Consent granted

We are delighted that permission has just been granted by Dorset Council to convert this attractive stone and brick barn to create a new dwelling. The conversion will provide two bedrooms within the existing structure and a kitchen and living space within a new timber clad extension. There will also be a parking area at the front and a garden to the rear.

Securing the permission was very much a team effort. Huge thanks go to Edward Checkley Conservation Architect for providing the plans; Tim Cole Downes Architectural Services for the survey; and Darwin Ecology for taking care of the necessary ecological surveys. This project went remarkably smoothly, from start to finish, and the building will make someone a really lovely new home.

If you are considering a similar project, do get in touch.
