Lawful Development Certificate

We are really pleased that South Somerset District Council have just issued a Lawful Development Certificate for the existing use of an area of land as garden and for the continued stationing of a shepherd hut in that garden for ancillary use.

This land has been used as garden for over 12 years. Similarly, the shepherd hut has been used for at least 12 years for overspill accommodation at the property.


The Local Planning Authority agreed that the use of the land as garden is now immune from enforcement action and is now therefore lawful. They also agreed that the stationing of the shepherd hut in that garden is lawful and that planning permission is not required.
