Setting up a new glamping site

5 tips for planning success

There has never been a better time to set up a new glamping business. Whether you are thinking of renting out a single shepherd in your garden or have a little more land at your disposal, the first step is obtaining planning permission. The approach to securing the right permission will depend on what you are proposing and the nature of your site.

For more information see our website: https://www.whiteacreplanning.com/glamping

Our top 5 tips for success are:

  1. Start with a small site first and expand later.

  2. Ensure that you have suitable access and sufficient parking.

  3. Choose a variety of different units - consider something unusual.

  4. Work out a Landscaping Scheme - include some additional planting.

  5. Budget for specialist support.

NB Your planning application should include full plans, a Planning Statement and a Business and Marketing Plan as a minimum. Some of the additional information you may also need to provide includes an Ecological Survey, Tree Survey, Access Statement and/or drainage plan. Be aware that obtaining planning permission takes a while. Now would be a good time to start for next season!
